HOW ARE PAYOUTS CHANGING?
Members now have the option of selecting cash or Pro Shop credit for handicap competition payouts. WHY CHOOSE PRO SHOP CREDIT?
The main reason is to maintain USGA Amateur Status. Amateur status is not relevant for BV Golf Club tournaments but is required by NCGA to play in their tournaments. WHAT ABOUT NCGA QUALIFIERS?
Amateurs and non-amateurs are welcome to play in any BVGC tournament including qualifiers. Non-amateurs can’t move on to an NCGA sectional qualifier. WILL OPTIONAL SIGNUPS LIKE GROSS SKINS STILL HAVE CASH PAYOUTS?
Yes. Gross Skins, Scratch Tournaments, Closest to the Pin contests and any other non-handicap competition are exempt from USGA Amateur Status rules. IS THE ANNUAL GRAND PRIX PAYOUT CONSIDERED PART OF A HANDICAP COMPETITION?
Yes. Grand Prix awards are paid out per an individual member’s payout preference. HOW DO I SIGN UP FOR CASH PAYOUTS?
Send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org to update your payout preference. A member's payout preference is set to Pro Shop credit by default. A payout preference change is applied to all future tournaments. WHAT HAPPENS IF I CHOOSE CASH AND THEN SWITCH TO PRO SHOP CREDIT?
Amateur status is automatically restored 6 months after the last cash payout is received for a handicap competition. WHAT ARE THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR PRO SHOP CREDIT?
Pro Shop credit may only be used to purchase merchandise. Pro Shop credit does not expire. WHAT ABOUT GUEST PAYOUTS?
Guests receive Pro Shop credit for competitions that use an NCGA handicap and cash otherwise (e.g. Closest to the Pin, a Peoria handicapped competition, etc). HOW ARE CASH PAYOUTS DELIVERED?
Cash payouts are available at any subsequent tournament check-in or scoring reception. Alternatively, you may send an email to email@example.com with your Paypal or Venmo username if that is how you wish to receive payment.
